  HOMER HIGH DDF ROADTRIP RULES

 
1.) Bradley Rule:                      Don’t leave cool stuff unattended.

2.) Maltz Rule:                         Maintain a 3 ft. perimeter around all teachers’ desks.

3.) Emery/Tonga Rule:             No swimming during team meetings.

4.) Tonga Rule:                       Don’t rehearse while ice skating.

5.) Edminster Rule:                  The coach does not want your stuff.

6.) Martin/Multz-Matthews Rule:         Your case is not as helpful if left in the hotel room.

7.) Gustafson Rule:                  Bring a tie.

8.) Gustafson Rule (2):             Bring socks.

9.) Linner Rule:                       Don’t share your ice cream with a coach if you want it back.

10.) DeCino Rule:                    No coffee before a long bus ride.

11.) Hansen Rule:                    No southern accents on the bus!

12.) Westerburg/Schneider Rule:                 No extemp debating in Nikiski.       

13.) Cushing Rule:                   Avoid debating your girlfriend in the state quarter-finals.

14.) Thorington Rule:              Make it to the bathroom before getting sick.

15.) Coach Paul J.  Rule:        The food supplied by the program is always good. 

16.) Emery Rule:                      Avoid saying “holy crap” to gubernatorial candidates who serve as judges.

17.) Edminster Rule (2):           Appreciate the distinction between debate and humorous interp.

18.) Coach Marla M.  Rule:     People over 30 should avoid student dances.

19.) Westerburg Rule:              When in doubt, quote something from Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.         

20.) Noomah Rule:                  There is only one excuse for leaving a competition room while students are performing. (See: DeCino Rule.)

21.) Maltz-Matthews Rule:       Avoid losing your trousers before competition.

22.) Coach Dan W.  Rule:       The coach’s spouse is always right.

23.) Coach Kathy W. Rule:      Constant vigilance.

24.) Maltz-Matthews Rule (2):  Don’t fall asleep while debating.

25.) Emery Rule (2):                Participating in a team photograph is unlikely to break the camera.

26.) Coach Kyra W. Rule:        In the event of a shortage, South American chocolate will be rationed to coaches and North American chocolate to students.

27.) Martin/Westerburg Rule:  Be ware the Ides of March and the Girls from Nikiski.
